2011 President’s Letter
Welcome to a new year with our Northern Colorado Health Information Association! 2011 is bound to present us with new opportunities for growth, both personally and as an organization. Check out our website (www.nchimaonline.org) to find various learning opportunities for this coming year to keep our mission of commitment to excellence in the management of health information.
Jolane Fenner led our organization in 2010. It is a big job, so I would like to offer my thanks for her leadership. The rest of the Board and Committee members also worked hard with countless hours to prepare for our education days. Many thanks to all of you: Bev Miller, Jeannette Walls, Hiram Wolgemuth, Sheila Key, Jeanette Gulder, Jill Kulanko, Loretta Lovato, Supriya Nair, and Betty Fowler. You all have worked on behalf of others…without payment.
February is the time to sign up as a member in order to receive communication on all upcoming meetings. Our Annual Dues are the same price as last year - $20! Please take time right now to complete the membership application, and get it ready to mail with your check to Tina Bruce, our Treasurer.
NCHIMA desires to continue to offer a variety of opportunities for professional development, networking, and education with the best value for your dollar in mind. Our conferences are avenues to network, learn from experts in the field, hone skills, and explore future trends in the HIM world, and there is a lot happening in all those areas. Conference dates will be set for a spring, summer, and a fall meeting. Check our website for the future dates. Mark your calendars now for our Spring Meeting on Friday, April 15th at the Bella Sera Event Center in Brighton and the Fall Meeting on July 29th at the Denver Central Red Lion Inn.
NCHIMA supports student learners by providing Arapahoe Community College RHIT graduates and Regis RHIA graduates scholarship money on an annual basis. If you would like to donate, please include your amount with your dues. Being a member of NCHIMA is a way to easily give back to the HIM community! Leaders: Encourage students to participate, as the membership is free for those enrolled in an AHIMA accredited program.

Our members can now sign up electronically for our meetings by using Telusys for registration and payment for conferences.
Notes from the speakers for our up-coming meetings are posted on our website, www.nchimaonline.org, a week before the date, so you can pre-print any pages that you want to follow along with at the meeting. This will help cut costs for printing and waste of paper.
